- Heat :
 2 Teaspoons Coconut Oil; in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add :
 1 Small Onion, Chopped; and cook until softened and just beginning to brown, 5 to 7 minutes.
- Add :
 1 Cup Brown or Green Lentils, Rinsed and Picked Over;
 2 Cups Vegetable Broth;
 bring to a boil, then partially cover and reduce heat to low.
- Simmer for 20 minutes, or until the lentils are tender enough to eat, but
                still firm enough to hold their shape ( not mushy ).
- Stir in :
 1 Can ( 15 Ounce ) Tomato Sauce;
 1 Tablespoon Sugar;
 1 Tablespoon Molasses;
 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar;
 1 Tablespoon Tamari or Soy Sauce;
 1 Tablespoon Tomato Paste;
 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder;
 1 Teaspoon Mustard Powder;
 Pinch of Cayenne Pepper ( Optional );
 Salt, to Taste;
 Black Pepper, to Taste;.
 
- Increase the heat to medium and bring to a boil.
- Continue to cook the lentils until the sauce has thickened, 10 to 15 minutes
                more, stirring frequently.
- Serve the lentils on :
 4 - 6 Hamburger Rolls ( Optional );.
